Beauty Blenders explained...

Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

Makeup sponges are an essential tool to have in your makeup kit, and the uses are so versatile. As well as blending your way to a perfect base, they are for concealing, baking, contouring and even bronze. But with the range of blenders on the market and all sorts of shapes and size, how do you choose the best one for you. Well, here is my low down on what the best on the market is and what they will be perfect for.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge This blender is the high street affordable makeup sponge from the high street and a popular alternative to the traditional Beauty blender. I find this sponge a little chunky, and denser to work with, however, it is great for a quick foundation application. The flat top is narrow enough for concealer application.

The Original Beautyblender This original Beautyblender has remained a firm favourite over the years with all makeup lovers. Due to the design and texture of the blender, it allows for a flawless makeup application. The egg-shaped blender is great for both smaller areas such as under-eye areas and the larger dome shape is ideal for the cheeks and forehead.

Silicone Sponge Blender Technically this isn’t a sponge at all as it’s made up of silicone. All the YouTubers were using this blender last year, and there was a lot of influencers promoting this as the best flawless blender, but after a mere few weeks, the trend died down and eventually vanished. I am not a fan of these blenders personally, as it does take some time to get used to. The main benefits of the silicone blender are that it is non-porous and therefore the best hygienic option. However, it works a dream with cream blushers

Arwa Blend & Bake Beauty sponge Now here is my personal favourite blender! The super-soft blender is latex-free that blends both cream and powder effortlessly. I use this blender for almost everything and no wonder as it is a firm favourite with professional makeup artists! The flat side is perfect for baking and blending to a flawless finish. The texture is far more soft and easier to work with than the other blenders. The sponge is fairly small so works perfectly when it comes to blending cream highlights onto the cheekbones as well.

We hope you are more clued up on beauty blenders and how to use them.  Don’t forget to dampen your beauty blenders to create that all important flawless base 🙂
